The Minnesota Association of Exercise Physiologists (MNAEP) is proud to be the professional organization dedicated to the advancement of Exercise Physiologists in Minnesota and the surrounding states of the upper Midwest.
The Minnesota Association of Exercise Physiologists was founded April 1, 2000. It is modeled after our national organization, The American Society of Exercise Physiologists (ASEP) that was founded in 1997. ASEP developed the things we need to operate as a profession such as our code of ethics, scope of practice, and accreditation of academic programs. The Minnesota Association of Exercise Physiologists acknowledges and supports our professional relationship with the American Society of Exercise Physiologists.
More than ever, preventable diseases are in the news and Exercise Physiologists are leading the charge to implement proactive and preventative intervention programs. Exercise Physiologists are the premier healthcare professionals to help individuals reduce their health issues with true prevention, thereby creating cost savings to the medical treatment model and individuals themselves...not to mention enhancing quality of life! There are those who practice Exercise Physiology as diagnostic and treatment protocols for people with cardiac, pulmonary and metabolic diseases. Exercise Physiologists are working with bariatric patients before and after procedures to help control bodyweight. Exercise Physiologists are even making progress with our most elderly citizens to combat weakness and injury.
With so many different applications, it is important that Exercise Physiologists have an organization that can work on both common ground issues as well as issues that affect individual professionals! It's also important that the public has a dependable resource that can provide information and support from this professional community!
